A Mile in my Shoes

There is a remarkable journey about to take place, by a remarkable woman.

This journey is called “A mile in my shoes” and the woman behind it is Kathy Trevenen O’Hara.  Kathy is going to walk 1000 kilometers from Harare to Gonerazhou.  Her efforts are to raise funds for AWARE Trust Zimbabwe, Kariba Animal welfare Trust and MAPP (Matusadona Anti-Poaching Project).  ALL funds Kathy raises will be shared be between these 3 dedicated organizations that Kathy has chosen.
The reason I am writing to you is to spread awareness about a fund raising event to support Kathy at The Mill in Ballantyne on the 25th March.  This is the week prior to Kathy’s departure and I am looking for a strong turn out to help her celebrate the beginning of her journey.   Kathy and I have also discussed using this event as reminder of the great things possible in Zimbabwe.  A moment of pride when all else seem dire and negative.  We know the realities and the suffering going on across the country and we hope that maybe this little piece of positivity & dedication, might give us a night to smile and be proud to be Zimbo for a few hours?

My hope is people will head over to the official FB page (https://www.facebook.com/sponsor1000km/?fref=ts) for this journey to learn more as the story progresses.  I will also keep people up to date via the AWARE FB page also.  If anyone has any questions, please email me or whatsapp me on +263 777 550 603 at any time.

We are still looking for individual and business sponsors so please if you think you can support Kathy on this amazing journey you can get in touch or use the Kariba Animal Welfare Trust account info below:

Right now I hope that our Zim population abroad may get to see this message.  Even though they cannot attend they can still support Kathy; and at this point it would be nice to take the pressure off locals who are always behind our cause.  If your overseas and have questions, once again please feel free to make comms with me to make a plan to get your support to Kathy.
