Mukuvisi – walk run & Dogs

HI All, every year HAC has a series of Cross Country events where participants can either walk or run between 7 & 16 km in a pleasant bush type environment – well away from the traffic. We had our first X Country run this morning at Mukuvisi with about 200 people of all shapes and sizes sprinting / shuffling along paths in sunny weather. The day was sponsored by Sean Quinlan of Big Skywho spends much of his time compiling the Cubby Hole Notes that have become so useful for motorists in Zimbabwe.

On the last Sunday of every month Mukuvisi coincidentally invite locals to go down and walk / run along well marked bush tracks. People are encouraged to bring their “Dog-Friendly” pooches. Today there was also a dog show – “Scruffs” – with well-known humanitarian, Bonny Woodman, judging the mutts being walked around a hastily constructed ring by proud owners.

Good healthy exercise on another glorious day in Africa. The Cross country only started at 8am so there was no excuse for lying in. Why not come along to the next run at Art Farm on Sunday 17th July? An even better idea would be to come along to Old Georgians next Friday at 5.15pm and become a regular runner. Great way to beat the winter weight blues!
