Cresta Jameson and Cresta Cape Town

HI All

We, as Nzira Travel Zimbabwe, were invited down to the Cresta Jameson Hotel this morning to witness both the major improvements done to the Cresta Jameson Hotel and the online launch of Cresta’s new flagship hotel in Cape Town – Cresta Grande- not far from the well-known Waterfront of Cape Town with all its magnificent pubs and restaurants.

Over the past 18 months, Cresta has invested over US$2.5 into a complete refurbishment of the Cresta Jameson. What a pleasant surprise to walk into the reception area and see a completely changed facelift together with fancy Persian Carpets, furniture et al. After the initial introductions, MC Stan Higgins, hooked us up with the online launch of Cresta Cape Town – their 17th property now covering 4 countries in Southern Africa.

We were then given a personalised tour of the hotel with their staff proudly showing off all the new facilities – from bedrooms; to conference rooms; a remodelled Tiffany’s Restaurant; and even their new kitchen with the chefs preparing our snack lunch. The Jameson Hotel was originally built in 1958 and many readers might remember it from the early 80s when the late Gordon Adams was the General Manager. Cresta Jameson will soon be holding their own re-launch event with the reopening of those landmark restaurants, Tiffany’s and the Sandawana, as well as “The Usual Place” bar; conferencing and banqueting rooms- watch this space for details.

Anyone looking for a classy, central hotel for their out of town staff to overnight in should seriously consider the Cresta Jameson as a good alternative.- there is a large safe parking area situated just behind the hotel leading off of Samora Machel just past the hotel entrance.

In the meanwhile, I am flying down to Cape Town this weekend to check out and review the Cresta Grande Hotel. Great weather there at the moment!

Ciao Mike G
