Those of you living in Harare will surely have welcomed the late rains that we were blessed with yesterday afternoon – the oppressive heat is overpowering when sitting behind a desk – it’s a totally different story when you are in Victoria Falls sitting on a Wild Horizons River Cruise or gazing casually at the Vic Falls Safari Lodge waterhole with a frosty beer in hand. I’d like you to please pause for a minute to consider what it must be like for the wildlife populating Mana Pools as their favourite water holes are all drying up forcing them to migrate ever closer to the Zambezi River for sustenance.
Fortunately for all of us, there are a few reputable organisations that make it their objective to find time, energy and forward-thinking into caring for the wildlife and environs in the Zambezi Valley. The Zambezi Elephant Fund (ZEF) has been set up and is being ably managed, by good friends of mine. I was given a chance to run in last month’s New York Marathon on the condition that I raise funds and awareness for ZEF.
I am, thus, holding a Silent Auction for 2 nights for 2 people sharing in a Lodge Waterhole facing room at the prestigious Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Fastjet has kindly donated two return tickets from Harare to Vic Falls and Wild Horizons have added a voucher for 2 people on their standard River Boat Cruise. The estimated value for the whole package is just over US$ 2,000.
Why don’t you make an offer for this package deal – send me an email to be received by Wed 22nd December 2021 before 12 noon. The highest valid offer wins. Please have the subject line as ZEF Silent Auction and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org – please give a contact number.
If you would prefer just to give a small donation towards my ZEF New York Marathon Fund please click here. I look forward to hearing from you soon – please note that ALL of the winning pledges will go directly to ZEF. Give Two Hoots.
