Did you feel inspired after reading my last article to make some positive and constructive changes in your life? Covid-19 time can be a time of transformation and growth, you just need to get creative and draw on the resources you have at your disposal.

Let’s start with your mindset. Mindset is a vital component to thriving and optimal functioning. How do you look at your life and circumstances? Are you logical and objective or do your emotions take over? What is far more useful than positive thinking, is healthy thinking, where you are able to evaluate both the positives and the negatives then reach a balanced conclusion.

Mindset plays a significant role in determining achievement and success. A growth mindset helps you to cope with life’s challenges and makes you more likely to persevere in the face of difficulties. Here are three ways in which you can cultivate a growth mindset. Firstly, boost your self-confidence by believing in yourself and changing the script in your head to “I can” and “I deserve” statements. You can also make a list of things you do well and look at it often. Secondly, see failure as feedback, a chance to adjust and learn. Lastly, take action, as inertia is the greatest enemy of growth. An ‘accountability partner’ can be very effective if you find it difficult to motivate yourself.

Times of crisis are also times of great opportunity – if only you are able to see possibilities instead of obstacles. So, change your mindset to one of growth and improve overall wellness. Try it!
