My name is Demi Ferreira,
I am a 23 year old Fitness professional and have been practicing for 4 years now. I am a Qualified ACE Personal trainer and a Functional training specialist currently furthering my career and education by doing an ACE course in Weight Management, as well as studying an internationally accredited diploma in Nutrition and Sports Nutrition. I am the founder and owner of F.I.T With Demi which is Functional Intuitive Training consisting of one on one personal training and a variety of Bootcamps.
I am a National Athlete and have competed in a number of competitions locally and internationally in body building and hold titles in Zimbabwe. Experiencing the industry as both a coach and a competitor has given me the experience and skills within health and fitness to empathise with and motivate my clients.
Along side my fitness career I am also a qualified Massage Therapist in Swedish Sports and Deep tissue massage therapy which furthers my understanding of the body and how it functions. These two qualifications fall hand in hand when working with my clients and are mutually beneficial when it comes to training, exercise and therapy.
Health and Fitness has been a passion of mine since I was at school and is why I made it a point in my life to educate myself about the body and in turn, help people in their health and fitness journeys. I am still very young and have a long way to go, but my passion drives me to help people and educate them when it comes to our bodies. It is so fun and rewarding for both me and my clients when they are making the right steps to a healthier lifestyle. I hope I can gain some ground and interest with the articles I will be doing.
Due to the unforeseen circumstances Covid-19 has imposed on us, having affected people’s lives in many ways, trying to keep fit and healthy has been difficult. Unfortunately, due to gyms having closed down for public safety, fitness has taken a back burner in many people’s lives, understandably. However, I would like to encourage people to lead a healthier lifestyle as it is imperative now more than ever. Taking this into consideration I have implemented a way to help people achieve their healthy lifestyle goals in the comfort of their own homes by sending in online training programs via E-mail with Whatsapp correspondence and have received incredible results and feedback. No equipment is required which is often seen as a drawback for at home exercising, all you need is a sweat towel and a good attitude!
I know weight loss can be a taboo subject for some people, but I want to encourage, not only my present and future clients, but everyone, that we all start somewhere and we just have to take it one day at a time. Nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it and we must love ourselves no matter what shape or size you are as long as you are healthy! A Healthier lifestyle is attainable and sustainable by making it enjoyable, making small behavioural changes and having a great relationship with the Client and trainer or health coach. It has to be in a happy and positive environment providing a menu of sensations to help the client regain the trust in their body. I have learnt in life that if something doesn’t bring you joy it won’t become habitual therefore it doesn’t last long.

I hope to bring about motivation and help educate people about loving our bodies instead of hating them, especially when it comes to getting healthier. Exercise shouldn’t be a punishment, but rather a reward and release from the stresses of everyday life.
