“Nothing ever comes to one that is worth having except as a result of hard work.” – Booker T. Washington
The first of May is always a special day for the majority of our community. It is a day, solely dedicated to celebrating and honouring all the sacrifices, the sleepless nights and the countless hours’ workers from all over the world have had to make to transform this world into a better and safer place. However, this year’s Workers day is particularly different in the context of Covid-19, we have learnt how to value and treasure every single occupation.
We would like to dedicate today’s post to all Workers. The past couple of months have not been easy. Especially with the lockdown, many workers have found it difficult to work efficiently. Despite all the challenges, workers have continued to soldier on each day simply to make ends meet and for that very reason, we would like to salute and appreciate all workers today. You are the real heroes. We would also like to commend all of the essential and help care workers who have been working tirelessly on the front line. Today is your day.
It is indeed remarkable to see how the Zimbabwean community has come together to help raise funds for those who have been affected financially by the lockdown scenario. This is a clear indication that there is an unwavering Zimbabwean spirit that reminds people to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever they can. As a community let us continue to support each other and to celebrate all of our workers.
Today is workers day, today is your day. Stay home, Stay safe, Stay hopeful. Happy workers day.
