Some celebrations arrive fashionably late, and mine did just that. A belated birthday lunch turned into a full-on soul-refreshing experience at Kelly’s Kuttings, a place that doesn’t just serve food, but serves up an atmosphere that feels like a warm hug in floral form.

We arrived in the afternoon, and from the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a vibrant display of flowers that lined the entrance like nature’s own welcome mat. It was the kind of setting that instantly slows your heartbeat and makes you smile without trying. We went for the harvest lunch, a self-service spread that felt like a countryside dream. I plated up a juicy pork chop, an avocado salad and a cauliflower bake (don’t quote me on the names, but trust me, the flavours were unforgettable). There’s something about eating good food while surrounded by blooming beauty that makes everything taste better. Now, let’s talk about Stewart. His service was top-tier. Attentive, kind, and effortlessly smooth, he made us feel like VIPs without the fuss.

The whole place radiates what I like to call the girly vibes: think flowing maxi dresses, wine glasses clinking, soft giggles over romantic life updates, and that rare feeling of being completely at ease. It only made sense that the afternoon evolved into a spontaneous photoshoot in the flower garden. The colours, the light, the laughter, it all begged to be captured. We even met other ladies there, and the connection was instant, like we’d all planned this little escape together. That’s the energy Kelly’s Kuttings cultivates, talk about warm, whimsical, and effortlessly communal.

And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, we made an impulsive detour to Imba Matombo for a few cocktails. Picture this: sitting at a bar that feels like a balcony in the sky, surrounded by towering trees swaying gently in the breeze. The air was soft, the mood mellow, and the cocktails? Chef’s kiss. It was the perfect way to wind down with nature, conversation, and a touch of indulgence.

If you’re looking for the perfect Sunday escape, where food, flowers, friendship, and a splash of spontaneity come together, Kelly’s Kuttings and Imba Matombo make a duo that’s hard to beat. I highly recommend!
