The Culture

THE CULTURE WE CREATED ON OUR ROADS

This is bigger than bad driving. It’s about who we have quietly become. We built a road culture where rushing feels normal. Where speed feels like success. Where getting there fast matters more than getting there alive. Where the smallest inconvenience ignites anger faster than compassion.facebook.com/105600827733427

And it wasn’t one big moment. It was a thousand tiny choices.

  • “I’m only a little over the limit.”
  • “It’s just a quick message.”
  • “Let me squeeze past this learner.”
  • “I can make that amber — I don’t have time to wait.”

Little moments. Normalised. Repeated. Stacked on top of each other until they became our culture.

And now many motorists aren’t driving, they’re reacting.

  • Reacting to pressure.
  • Reacting to chaos.
  • Reacting to the reckless behaviour of others instead of controlling their own.

But the truth remains:

  • Good driving is not perfection.
  • Good driving is a responsibility.
  • Responsibility for the souls in your car.
  • Responsibility to the strangers beside you.
  • Responsibility to the families waiting for all of us at home.

And let’s be honest…It’s not just the young who take risks. It’s not just the inexperienced making dangerous choices. Some of the most reckless behaviour comes from seasoned drivers who have stopped respecting the road. Because complacency can kill just as fast as inexperience.

The Highway Code hasn’t changed much.

We have.

  • Distraction replaced discipline.
  • Ego replaced awareness.
  • Impatience replaced judgement.

But here is the part we often forget:  Culture can be changed the same way it was damaged, one choice at a time.

  • One driver choosing to slow down.
  • One driver choosing kindness instead of anger.
  • One driver choosing patience instead of pride.
  • One driver refuses to become part of the chaos.

You can’t control the entire road.

  • But you can control yourself.
  • You can be the calm one.
  • You can be the safe one.
  • You can be the reason someone else reaches home tonight.

Change starts with one person. One car. One journey. Make your journey meaningful. Make your habits life-saving. Make your choices, the difference between tragedy and survival. And when the unexpected hits, when your vehicle fails you, when your heart races, when the road suddenly turns cold and unforgiving —Drive Zimbabwe Roadside Assistance will not.

  • We show up.
  • We protect you.
  • We bring you home.
  • Day or night.

Anywhere in Zimbabwe. Because no matter how dangerous our roads become, you should never face a breakdown alone.
