Dear Friends and Family
As we gather together in spirit through this mid-year newsletter, I am reminded of a profound truth: love is the glue that binds us all. At BS Leon Trust, love is not just a sentiment; it is the driving force behind everything we do. It is what transforms our house into a home, and our residents into a family.
We have exciting updates to share with you. The development of our four new bedsits is progressing splendidly, providing more space and comfort for our beloved residents. Alongside this, the aesthetic enhancements throughout the home are coming along beautifully, creating a warm and welcoming environment that truly feels like home. Thank you, Ryan and Michelle for your unwavering support in levelling up our residents’ facilities.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome the newest members of our BS Leon family, Ben Blake and Dawn Blake. Ben joins our team of dedicated Maintenance Officers, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and safely. Dawn, our new Kitchen Matron, brings her culinary expertise and nurturing spirit to our kitchen, ensuring that every meal is made with love and care. We are deeply grateful to have them on board and look forward to the positive impact they will undoubtedly have on our community.
Our main focus this year remains steadfast: to continue loving and caring for our residents with all our hearts. BS Leon is not merely a place; it is a feeling, a sense of belonging and unconditional love that permeates every corner of our home.
We owe an immense debt of gratitude to our guardian angels—our tireless fundraisers—whose support makes our mission possible. Your generosity and dedication have brought light and hope into the lives of our residents. However, the need is ever-present, and we are reaching out to you, our extended family, for more angels to join our cause. Some of our residents come to us with nothing, and it is through your kindness and support that we can provide them with a loving home.
As we close this message, I want to leave you with a powerful reminder of the importance of love in all that we do. Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart.”
Let us continue to feel with our hearts and to share that love with those who need it most. Your support, whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word, makes a world of difference. Together, we can ensure that BS Leon Trust remains a beacon of love and care for the elderly in Harare.
For us, it’s non-negotiable.
Thank you for being a part of our family. Let love lead the way.
With heartfelt gratitude and warm regards,
Martine Fox
