Hi All,

Having spent a long day on the Vic Falls / Hwange Road yesterday, I made the decision to change the timing of my return flight to Harare. The net result was an overnighter in the Falls at one of my favourite guest houses, Nkosi Lodge, One of Bayete’s three very fine, reasonably priced Lodges in Victoria Falls.

Nkosi Guest Lodge has been designed with a focus on providing guests with adequate space for socialising and relaxing whilst on holiday in Victoria Falls.”

First thing on my to-do list, after being shown to my deluxe bedroom and soaking in a steamy hot, refreshing bath, was to find a place to relax with a cold drink amidst good company. The Nkosi staff recommended I try out a very up-market, new sunset cruise on the opulent “Pure Africa” flagship – costs slightly more (US$ 70) than the other “Booze Cruises” but in a class of its own. Pure Africa do have their own elegant restaurant, The Eatery, situated on land very close to their landing deck.

There is a great chef at Nkosi, so I chose to rather make my way back there for a delicious supper and an early night.

My new day started off with an early morning swim in Nkosi lodge’s 10-metre pool followed by a protracted breakfast before sitting down to catch-up with happenings at Softrite and Bambazonke – all the while working in a very pleasant surround. A visit to Vic Falls nowadays is never complete without a light lunch at The Lookout Café or the Baines Restaurant, so I popped down to the latter for a quick beer at noon before heading off to catch my fastjet return flight.

Victoria Falls is all happening right now with lodges, housing, and development all around. Don’t leave it for too long before you make your next trip up there. Ciao Mike G.
