Triathlon – Selection Race #7

This past Sunday, the Mount Pleasant Pool was alive with energy as athletes, families, and supporters gathered for the seventh selection race of the season. Proudly sponsored by Arundel Village, the event once again showcased the resilience and determination of Zimbabwe’s triathlon community.

The littlies, brimming with excitement, splashed into the pool with wide smiles, cheered on by parents and spectators who lined the edges. Their enthusiasm set the tone for the day, reminding everyone that triathlon is as much about joy and encouragement as it is about competition. The older athletes, many of whom have been moving steadily from one race to the next this season, demonstrated remarkable grit. With formats ranging from tots to juniors, and sprint to standard distances, there was truly something for everyone.

As the event drew to a close, the sense of accomplishment was palpable. Athletes left with tired legs but full hearts, while families carried home memories of another weekend well spent. Thanks to the generous sponsors, for enabling the event which was not only a competitive milestone but also a celebration of community spirit. For anyone looking to spend a weekend surrounded by sport, family, and fun, the Mount Pleasant Pool triathlon proved once again to be the perfect place to be. And as the season rolls on, be on the lookout for the Troutbeck Triathlon this March, one of the most anticipated events on the calendar. With its breathtaking setting in the Eastern Highlands, it promises to be another unforgettable weekend of competition and camaraderie. Registration is already open on the Zimbabwe Triathlon website, so don’t miss the chance to be part of it.
