This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the fourth Diplomatic Charity Bazaar, organised by the Diplomatic Spouses Association in Zimbabwe. Operating under the inspiring theme “Together We Give, Together We Grow,” the event was a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and philanthropy that truly lived up to the hype.
The highlight of the bazaar was undoubtedly the sheer diversity on display. With the participation of 26 Embassies from across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, attendees were treated to a “world tour” without ever leaving the country. The event featured a wide range of stalls representing different nations. Each embassy offered a glimpse into its culture, and it was an immersive experience. There were traditional foods and beverages, intricate handicrafts and clothing.
While the international presence was strong, the event also deeply rooted itself in the local community. A lot of local Zimbabwean businesses, vendors, artists, craftsmen, and NGOs set up shop alongside the diplomatic missions. The stage came alive with live music performances by various renowned artists. The audience was also treated to an exclusive look at Zuvva’s “Heritage Collection.”
The Embassy of China showcased a powerful exercise you might want to try! Click here to watch the full video. Beyond the fun and food, the heart of the event was charity. Knowing that all the proceeds went directly to supporting local charities across Zimbabwe made the experience even more rewarding.
