If you thought skipping was just a game for primary school kids, Bambazonke’s first-ever skipping session at The Highlander proved that it is quite exciting to adults too. Despite the blazing sun beating down, the energy on the ground was absolutely electric, proving that fitness and fun can go hand-in-hand.

It was a fantastic mix of high-intensity activity and pure joy. Participants competed in friendly skipping races, pushed their limits, and showed off their footwork. However, the competitive spirit from the guys was on a whole different level; they were skipping like their lives depended on it!

At some point, we took a trip down memory lane with the classic childhood game of “Fish Fish”. Hearing the familiar chant echo across the grounds brought a massive wave of nostalgia to everyone present: “Fish fish, spell your name, letter F-I-S-H, fish fish, turn around, touch the ground…” All this was done trying to do what the lyrics instructed without tripping over the rope.

Missteps brought out belly laughs and playful challenges. For those few hours, we were all kids again, laughing, cheering, and trying to master the ultimate rope tricks. Once the ropes were finally untangled and the competitive fire was satisfied, it was time to cool off.

We moved to the shade, grabbed a drink or two, and just soaked in the good vibes. The post-skipping social was the perfect way to unwind, swap stories of our best (and worst) rope tangles, and enjoy the rest of the day.
