If you live further down Enterprise, you can probably relate. We’ve all been there, navigating weekend traffic to cross over to Sam Levy’s Village or driving up to Highland Park in search of a good coffee and brunch experience. Doppio Zero at Cardinals Corner bridges that gap perfectly. It brings that cafe culture directly to our residential areas, saving us the drive.
If you’ve ever visited a Doppio Zero in South Africa, you can’t help but arrive with high expectations, and naturally, you hope the Harare branch lives up to them. The interior design is a masterclass in modern, Mediterranean-inspired warmth. TikTok reviewers have already dubbed it a top spot for cute date days and family meals.
The space features cosy booths, warm lighting, and an open layout. The space is just as suited to a morning work session with your laptop as it is to a family breakfast or a relaxed coffee date. The atmosphere makes you want to sit back and stay a little longer.
My mate said the Americano was well-balanced, with just the right amount of boldness. I went for a red cappuccino, and I loved its smooth, creamy texture and the gentle, earthy flavour of the rooibos. The breakfast dishes easily held their own against some of the best breakfast spots in the city.
Doppio Zero is a full Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with plenty more to explore. Their bakery selection, particularly the pastries, is still on my list to try, and with breakfast, lunch and dinner on offer, there’s a lot more to come back for. For now, I’ve had a taste of what they offer, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Watch here for a little glimpse inside.
